The Supply Chain Logistics Manager oversees the full supply chain cycle in Iraq—including logistics, demand planning, inventory control, and regulatory compliance—to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and uninterrupted product availability. The role requires strong leadership, advanced problem-solving skills, and deep knowledge of Iraqi importation standards, customs regulations, and FMCG operational requirements.
Responsibilities
- 1- Ensure accurate forecasts and optimal stock levels across Iraq.
- Align with Sales/Commercial teams on market trends.
- Analyze lead times, supply risks, and improve forecast reliability.
- Synchronize forecasts with inbound schedules, budgets, supplier cycles, and safety stock.
- 2. Inventory Management
- Maintain healthy inventory levels and control working capital.
- Manage stock distribution across 2 NDPs and 3 warehouses.
- Track ageing stock, slow movers, and overstocks; implement corrective actions.
- 3. Inbound & Internal Logistics
- Lead inbound logistics and customs clearance.
- Manage inter-branch logistics, trucking deals, and checkpoint challenges.
- Ensure timely arrivals from all Iraqi POEs (Umm Qasr, Arar, Treibil, EIA, BIA, IK, Mosul).
- Optimize routes, freight methods, and lead-time efficiency.
- 4. Regulatory & Compliance
- Maintain expert knowledge of Iraqi import rules, ASYCUDA, and quality mark regulations.
- Ensure accurate documentation (COO, COC, invoices, HS codes, labeling).
- Coordinate with customs, ministries, and inspection bodies to resolve issues.
- 5. Cost Optimization
- Lead cost-saving initiatives in logistics, clearance, and transportation.
- Monitor landed costs and support pricing decisions.
- Negotiate freight and clearing rates; reduce demurrage and penalties.
- 6. Problem-Solving & Risk Management
- Resolve customs delays, supply disruptions, and port/transport issues.
- Develop contingency plans using alternative routes and ports.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and implement long-term solutions.
- 7. Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and develop logistics and planning teams.
- Set clear KPIs for inbound flow, inventory, forecasting, and transfers.
Must Have
- Master’s degree or professional certifications are a strong advantage.
- 7–12 years in FMCG supply chain/logistics within Iraq.
- Proven experience with Iraqi importation laws, customs systems, regulatory bodies, and port operations.
- Strong background in demand planning, inventory management, logistics, cost control, and budgeting.
- Strong knowledge of shipping documentation & international trade.
- Proficiency in forecasting tools, supply planning systems, and advanced Excel.
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
- Experience leading S&OP cycles.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage pressure and urgent operational challenges.
- Flexibility to travel to POEs, warehouses, and partner locations.
